In the 1990s and 2000s, the 1940s slang term hipster began being used in North America to describe young, well-educated urban middle class and upper class adults with leftist, liberal, orlibertarian social and political views and interests in a non-mainstream fashion and cultural aesthetic. While definitions vary, hipsters are often associated with alternative music, "indie" culture (indie rock and independent film), and other non-mainstream products, such as vintage clothing.

I got some new things today.
I got a pack of cloth hairbands. They're pretty. Red, Blue, Yellow, Black, and White.
My red one is especially cute.
I just tried to take a picture, but it didn't work out too well.
I worked tonight 5-close. Its a nice shift. Goes by relatively fast. I have to wear a hairnet now. But its alright, because its blonde, and you cannot even tell that Im wearing it. I loves it. Kinda. I mean, for what it is, I love it.
Have I mentioned that I'm going to be a life group leader?
I'm volunteering for Mars Hill. Going to be in charge of a group of 8-10 5th&6th grade girls. Haha. Kind of out of the blue. I was at church with Mani one day, and I just got a post card that asked for volunteers, and I just thought that it'd be a really great time to do something. Unfortunately, its not until September so the immediate aspect that I was going for is kind of...gone. But either way, I am looking forward to it.
Want to hear my schedule for fall classes?
1) Introduction to Cultural Anthropology
2) Algebra (NO!!)
3)Fundamentals of Music (Had to take the art class, so I thought this would be a good choice since I already have a small background in theory)
4) Cognition (This will be cool?)
It's only 13 credits. I'm looking to take one more class, but having trouble finding one that fits into my schedule. Maybe I'll do that right now?
It's 2:30am and I have to work at 1 pm tomorrow.

You Are My Face
I remember my mother’s
Sister’s husband’s brother
Working in the goldmine full-time
Filling in for sunshine
Filing into tight lines
Of ordinary beehives
The door screams I hate you
Hate you hanging around my blue jeans
Why is there no breeze
No currency of leaves
No current through the water wire
No feelings I can see
I trust no emotion
I believe in locomotion
But I've turned to rust as we've discussed
Though I must have let you down
too many times
In the dirt and the dust
I have no idea how this happens
All of my maps have been overthrown
Happenstance has changed my plans
So many times my heart has been outgrown
Now everybody’s feeling all alone
Can’t tell you who I am
When everybody’s feeling all alone
Can’t tell you who I am
I am looking forward
Toward the shadows tracing bones
Our faces stitched and sewing
Our houses hemmed into homes
Trying to be thankful
Our stories fit into phones
And our voices lift so easily
A gift given accidentally
When we’re not sure
We’re not alone
I remember my mother’s
Sister’s husband’s brother
Working in the goldmine full-time
Filling in for sunshine
Filing into tight lines
Of ordinary beehives
The door screams I hate you
Hate you hanging around my blue jeans
Why is there no breeze
No currency of leaves
